KANPUR: Rohit Sharma’s brilliant 147, his 15th century, and captain Virat Kohli’s 32nd ton helped India to 337/6 in 50 overs against New Zealand in the 3rd and final ODI being held in Green Park at Kanpur.
Kohli also went past 9,000 One-Day Internationals runs to become the fastest to reach the landmark, beating South African AB de Villiers’ record.
After being put in to bat, India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan early but Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma put together a partnership of 240 runs to reach a strong total.
Sharma, who smashed 147 off 138 balls, and Kohli, who made 113, became the first pair in ODIs to record four double-century stands between them after putting together 230 runs for the second wicket.
The left-handed Munro, who smashed 8 fours and 3 sixes in his 62-ball knock, took a special liking to Indian pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar, whose first five overs cost 51 runs.
Chahal soon spun into action to send Munro and Williamson trudging back to the pavilion as New Zealand stumbled in their chase.
For India, pacer Jasprit Bumrah scalped three wickets and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets.
